There are some circumstances in which information may need to be shared without your informed consent including if:
There is any reason to believe that a child or vulnerable adult is experiencing abuse or neglect
If you are deemed to be at imminent risk for harming yourself or someone else
If a psychologist's records have been subpoenaed by a Court of Law
Yes! Many extended health benefit plans have coverage for services with a registered psychologist. or registered clinical counsellor. A detailed receipt will be provided at the end of your session that can be submitted to your insurance plan for reimbursement, or may be eligible for direct billing.
Any fees not covered by insurance may also qualify as a medical expense and may be eligible for tax claims, health spending, etc.
